We include a range of original and non-original symbols on the course, though we don’t want overemphasise the use of symbols, because we believe that they have assumed an unnecessary importance within the world of western Reiki. The symbols that you learn on the Master course allow you to send Reiki to heal at the soul level, produce balance in an instant, deal with aspects of karma, and focus energy intensely on the mind or the emotions. 2. Elaine will be in contact and confirm your attunement time, either at 9am or 5pm UK time over 2-4 days. During your designated time it is recommended you take time to sit and receive the attunement in a quiet place, you will only need to sit for 5 minutes for each attunement. There are four attunements in total spread over 2-4 days. Being awake or mindful is not necessary, it is just more fun!

We spend some time working with Intent, and go through various exercises that help to ‘open our eyes’ to the simplicity and power of Reiki, and the importance and versatility of intent in terms of directing the energy and experiencing different energies. To gain the most out of this course, the student will need to have to hand a group of friends and relatives that they can use a ‘guinea pigs’ to practise things on as they work through the various stages of their course. Original Japanese Reiki is a very free and fluid system, free from the dogma and rules that infest Western-style Reiki training. An important part of the Master Teacher level is to full open to your intuitive powers and to explore the power of intent. Many Reiki masters have websites or brochures that describe their training, experience and classes. If you do not find such information, it is reasonable to have a brief conversation to ask some questions. Many of these questions are the same ones you would ask a Reiki practitioner, as outlined in the section How Can I Find a Qualified Practitioner.
You may want to contact several Masters before you make your decision. The Master who lives nearest may not necessarily be the right Master for you - many Masters teach in different areas. Trust your feelings - if you have any doubts, look further and take your time. Meet the Masters if you can, or at least speak with them on the phone in order to receive a personal impression. Stage 7 This stage is all about Western attunements. You will be learning how to carry out a Second Degree attunement, and you will practise carrying it out. Then you will learn how to carry out a Western Master attunement. Finally you will learn how to carry out the First Degree attunements. It will take about 8 hours to carry out these various tasks, over 7 days.
What do we look for in someone when considering them as Reiki Teachers? An enthusiasm for the subject, humility, experience, a desire to help and serve, an open heart? Ironically most people who I have taught to be Reiki Teachers were usually the last to believe they could be. If you feel a pull to do this, that is sufficient for me and together we will develop your skills and practice to another level giving you the knowledge and confidence to take someone through Reiki training yourself.

It was nice when you explained that Reiki is a therapy wherein the energy is moved and the energetic systems are affected in order to promote the healing of a person. That seems like a harmless way to improve a person. I might ask my mom to give this a try since she has been suffering from the side effects of her surgery, and she doesn’t want to take meds. This is the best alternative to get her to feel better.
