Stage 8 This stage is all about Reiju empowerments. You will learn how to give Reiju, and you will practise carrying it out. Then you will learn how give Reiju at different levels, and practise doing this. Finally you will learn how to carry out self-empowerments, and practise these for yourself. It will take about 7 hours to carry out these various tasks, over 7 days.

This is the background and theory that you study from home and then complete an online test paper before attending your practical training. It is easily completed with between 6-10 hours of study time. For some people it may take a little longer. In order to be awarded your Diploma you then have a choice of either providing a dissertation or else a copy of your own Reiki course manuals.
You can only learn Reiki from a qualified Reiki master. One way to find a Reiki master is to ask friends that practice Reiki with whom they studied. You can also ask local practitioners of other complementary therapies, such as massage or shiatsu, because these practitioners often know other complementary therapy providers. Or you can check bulletin boards in yoga studios and health food stores or inquire if your local hospital has a complementary or integrative medicine service. Since Reiki is used by many people to cope with chronic illness, any local organization that offers services to people with illnesses such as cancer, HIV, fibromyalgia, or diabetes may have a list of community resources.
The Reiki attunement can start a cleansing process that affects the physical body as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with feelings and thought patterns that are no longer useful. Therefore, a process of purification prior to the attunement is recommended to improve the benefit one receives. The instructions on preparing for an attunement is as:-
You may have heard that Reiki must be taught in person and I am here to let you know that is simply not true. Keep in mind that the founder, Dr. Mikao Usui passed on attunements simply by sitting in meditation with his students. There was no physical contact, only an energetic transmission. Today, we understand that energy transcends time and space. I have been teaching Reiki for almost twenty years and have had the honor of teaching it online for the past five years and I can confidently say that you can be an amazing Reiki practitioner with this online certification.
For the benefit of those who might like to receive a face-to-face empowerment as part of their home study Reiki training, we may be able to arrange for you to receive a ‘live’ Master empowerment at one of the Reiki shares hosted by members of our team of teachers. Stage 5 This stage is all about learning to develop the Hara, an important part of the original system that Usui Sensei taught. We will use a specific meditation, or energy exercise, to achieve this, and the exercise will continue throughout the rest of the course and beyond. It will take about 10 hours to carry out these various tasks, over 14 days.
You can! Well, you need to have taken First and Second Degree already, and we recommend that you leave at least six months between your Second Degree and Master Teacher courses. This gives you a chance to get grips with, and practise, what you learned. It’s not a race! Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. I had been teaching telepathic interspecies communication online and distance for years, and I knew that one of the wonderful benefits of Reiki is that it can be practiced at a distance. And finally, ask what opportunities the Reiki master offers for continued mentoring and group practice. Choose your Reiki master carefully, looking not only for a teacher who has the qualifications you want, but also for one with whom you feel a rapport.
Stage 3 This stage is all about becoming familiar with the new symbols that we cover on the Master course. Firstly you will receive a distant Master attunement. Then you will learn to become familiar with the characteristic energies of the two ‘Master’ symbols, and some other symbols, and you will learn how to use the symbols in practice. Finally you will learn how you can, with time, move beyond the symbols to access their energies direct. It will take about 10 hours to carry out these various tasks, over 10 days.
Before teaching your first class, additional practice doing the attunements is a good idea. This can be done on friends who already have Reiki. Ask them if they would like to be an "attunement model" and let them know that the additional attunements will be beneficial for them and will refine and strengthen their Reiki energies. Most will gladly agree. If you can't find someone to practice on, you can use a teddy bear or a pillow to represent a person.
As time went by, Mrs. Takata contemplated the need to train other Reiki Masters. She realized that the Japanese concept of respect might be difficult to instill in the Western mind. Because Reiki Mastership is so easily learned, being simply passed on during the Reiki Master attunement, she felt that Westerners might not value it. So she devised a plan of charging a large sum of money for those wanting to become Reiki Masters. She felt that money was something that Western people understood and respected and this would help create the appreciation and gratitude for Reiki that was needed. She decided that $10,000 would be a large enough sum to instill the respect needed for the Reiki Master attunement. She also set the fees for Reiki I at $175 and Reiki II at $500. These high fees have continued to be charged by some Reiki Masters, but many are now considering a lower fee structure that makes it possible for anyone who feels guided to do so to become a Reiki Master.

Once you have received a Reiki attunement, you will have Reiki for the remainder of your life. It does not wear off and you can never lose it. While one attunement is all you need for each level to be attuned to that level, additional attunements bring benefit. Experimentation has found that additional attunements of the same level add to the value of that level. These benefits include refinement of the Reiki energy one is channeling, increased strength of the energy, healing of personal problems, clarity of mind, increased psychic sensitivity, and a raised level of consciousness. At the Reiki support groups sponsored by the Center, additional attunements are usually given by someone who has taken Third degree Reiki, with no extra fee required.
(360 hours of study are included to the Reiki Master/Teacher Level. You can then add 1 more course to gain Membership to the Association of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists of Canada. In the past I have always allowed students to assist on my courses and I also ask students to organize Reiki Training courses in their area for small groups which I come and run with them as part of their training. This works really well and adds skills and confidence in marketing and organization which I have been able to help with from my many years of experience. It also serves to sow the seed for your own healing and teaching practice in your immediate area, which you can then develop and build upon. We also looked at the Reiki Level I, II and Master Certification Energy Healing Course, which is for those who want to learn Reiki to heal family members and friends. The Kotodama, or ‘jumon’, are sacred Shinto mantras used by Usui before the introduction of symbols into Reiki. We show how these mantras can be used when carrying out treatments, we become familiar with their characteristic energies, we discover how they can be used for self-healing and spiritual development, and we learn how they can be used in conjunction with Reiju empowerments.

Its easy to understand and the benefits are substantial. Hi this has been a great course that I recommend to anyone studying spirituality, conscious subjects, healing subjects and modalities. I am a massage therapist that discovered Reiki in my work the last 3 years so I studied this course to put the icing on the cake so to speak. My experiencial knowing matches up with what is taught in this course, Reiki is very real and very effective when the skills are realised then projected out. Melissa has done well to present how it is, how it was and how it will always be. I feel I was guided to this course and I resonated with the content of it all, I enjoyed reading the materials and doing the suggested exercises.
