Hello! My name is Cheryl Jiala Driskell. I am an author, intuitive counselor and energy therapist, R.I.N., and the Master Reiki Teacher who has written the CSNSD's Reiki Programming. I have taken my role very seriously in my development of the Reiki courses I, II & III (teacher level). I have also been in large part the creator of the Registered Integrative Naturotherapist level whereby the Reiki teacher can extend their training to include this additional designation. Becoming a Reiki Master involves the introduction to another, very strong Symbol. With this Master Symbol you will feel completely integrated with your inner-self. I teach from two main Reiki lineages - the Western and Japanese teachings which both originate from Mikao Usui. Learning from two lineages - Usui Shiki Ryoho & Usui Reiki Ryoho will give you a broad, balanced and authentic view of the system of Reiki. The key to understanding Reiki is to experience and practically apply the energy. For this reason our Reiki 1 & Reiki 2 courses are taught over 2 days each (14 contact hours). Unlike shorter, 1 day Reiki courses or Reiki 1 & 2 weekends - this allows ample time for practice, questions and understanding Reiki theory, history & philosophy. This enables you to feel confident and empowered in using Reiki at every level.
You can learn reiki in person through a class, or online through remote coursework. Whether taught in person or through a distance learning class, the benefits of reiki education and attunement are the same. The main difference is cost. In person classes tend to be more expensive, and often do not provide much in the way of course materials for later reference.
Healing attunements seem to have derived from the work of William Rand, and are designed to be used to help a client open themselves fully to the effects of Reiki. I see them more as a Reiki ‘blessing’. Reiki Psychic surgery is a ritual which focuses your intent in a particular way. The microcosmic orbit meditation takes the energies associated with the Reiki symbols round the functional and governor channels, and crystal healing grids are used to send distant Reiki 24 hours a day by using ‘charged’ crystals in a particular geometric pattern. ‘Antahkaranas’ are Asian symbols that produce a healing effect of their own, without the need to be attuned to them. The basics of pendulum dowsing are presented in the manual, to allow students to look in more detail at their clients’ chakra systems and to contact their spirit guides if they wish to pursue this aspect of Reiki practice.
A. Many teachers started with Usui Reiki which is excellent then are introduced to this system which does not take anything away from the Usui method. This system just adds to what you already have to make the system of healing you offer more effective. It is equally good for those who have trained in Usui Reiki or for those new to healing therapies.
Aimee is an excellent instructor because of her experience and her heart. The actual delivery of info in the online class does not always showcase her abilities. I highly recommend this class. Your hands are most likely to experience temperature changes when practising. This is the effect of the Reiki energy flowing through your hands. The person receiving Reiki (that can be you giving yourself or the person you give Reiki) will feel relaxed as the energy reduces physical, emotional and mental stress. The person receiving feels often warmth coming out of the hands of the giver.
The Reiki attunement can start a cleansing process that affects the physical body as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with feelings and thought patterns that are no longer useful. Therefore, a process of purification prior to the attunement is recommended to improve the benefit one receives. See below for specific instructions on preparing for an attunement.

I cannot recommend Melissa enough! She has such a beautiful calm way of teaching while giving SO much info, including in the manual. I work with people all over the world who want to learn animal communication and Reiki to help people and animals in their families and communities. There are many people who live in places where Reiki training isn’t available or accessible to them. When you are healing somebody, you are just removing the sick energy and replacing it with Universal energy (this is good energy that makes you feel good and happy). By using Reiki you will never do this transfer directly, but indirectly. This indirection will protect you from getting any sickness from any patients. Other healing methods work by making this energy exchange directly, therefore exposing themselves to the risk of getting these diseases, sometimes even permanently. My recommendation is to stay away from those energy healing methods and stick to Reiki.

You can! Well, you need to have taken First and Second Degree already, and we recommend that you leave at least six months between your Second Degree and Master Teacher courses. This gives you a chance to get grips with, and practise, what you learned. It’s not a race! We spend some time talking about how to develop intuition and give some suggestions for moving beyond the basic “Reiji ho” approach. We will practice working intuitively in a number of different ways and introduce a method where we can directly perceive someone’s energy system, and we also explore some “mind’s eye” visual shortcuts. Before taking your Teacher training you and I will discuss what you expect / will learn in the class and what your intentions are as a future Teacher. It is a serious step that requires adequate preparation, and you need to feel motivated and ready for it. Extended experience with practice in Reiki Degrees 1, 2, and Master is required and the experienced use of all the Symbols is a must. This usually can be done 1-2 years or later after the Reiki Master Degree is obtained.
Stage 4 This week is all about becoming familiar with Shinto mantras that predate the use of symbols within Reiki, mantras used by the majority of Usui Sensei’s students to experience the energies taught at Second Degree and Master levels. Firstly you will receive distant empowerments for each of the four energies. Then you will be chanting and meditating on the four kotodama energies. You will move on to compare their energies with the energies of the four corresponding Reiki symbols. Finally you will use them in practice when treating and when carrying out distant healing. It will take about 10 hours to carry out these various tasks, over 10 days.
