This limited access internet forum gives my students a very safe environment to share experiences and discuss Reiki and general spiritual questions. Before I took Reiki I was spiritually healing at times and did some training in 2000 at my local spirituals church as a trainee healer. However Reiki really appealed to me much more so, and I love it! I found Reiki attunements really helped in the reconnection to the life force energy and it has much more in depth teachings, to aid the student progression through the different levels of Reiki, for a much deeper understanding of how it works and how best to use and apply it.
I have sincerely enjoyed this course and learnt a lifetime of new energies and how to use them in accordance to my daily living and way of helping people. The heights of experience you gain by moving on to the next level which is Reiki level 2 includes a more in-depth experience with the ki which furthers your spiritual development and your self-healing practice, as the Reiki symbols will be taught to you. In this level, the knowledge that will help you to give others(whether in person or distant) the Reiki treatment will be explained to you. It is generally advised that you wait a couple of months from your first level attunement before you move into the second.

The attunement process used by the Center in all Reiki classes is a combination of the Usui system and a special Tibetan technique. It is thought that Reiki originated in Tibet, therefore, the use of the Tibetan technique and symbols creates a stronger connection with the origins of Reiki. The addition of the Tibetan attunement technique to the Usui system of attunements has greatly improved their quality. This unique attunement process was developed over time to be more powerful and to bring in a wider range of attunement energies than the original Usui system. In Reiki III the Usui/Tibetan method of giving attunements is taught along with the original Usui system of attunements.
The Reiki attunement can start a cleansing process that affects the physical body as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with feelings and thought patterns that are no longer useful. Therefore, a process of purification prior to the attunement is recommended to improve the benefit one receives. The instructions on preparing for an attunement is as:-

Reiki is easily learned and practiced as self-care by anyone who is interested, regardless of the person's age or state of health. Children can learn to practice, as can the elderly and the infirm. No special background or credentials are needed to receive training. One of the hallmarks of Reiki practice is its simplicity: it can be learned in about ten hours of in-person training, generally offered in group class formats, and doesn't require knowledge of either subtle bioenergy or healthcare.

Reiki Master training at either Certificate or Diploma level is an enormous personal commitment, both in terms of the actual deepening of your knowledge of Reiki, but also as a pathway to personal growth. Most people find Master’s training immensely rewarding but few complete the training without facing some challenges. You need to be prepared to be open minded, committed, and willing to spend the time required for your growth.

I stumbled upon Melissa when looking for Reiki courses, and although getting a good feeling from her, I originally decided I wanted to learn in person. However, when looking at local Reiki courses I just didn’t feel the connection with any other teachers – I realised then that Melissa was meant to be my Reiki teacher. You can certainly learn about reiki online but you can’t be taught how to practice Reiki online. Some of the material found in online course can be a nice supplement, providing it’s correct and not full of myth and fallacies, which tends to be the case. If you want to learn Reiki you don’t need to travel to Japan but it’s crucial that you understand Japanese culture and the origins of Reiki, its methods, teachings and evolution.
All information about Reiki has come to us through Mrs. Takata who learned the system of Reiki in Japan in 1935. According to Mrs. Takata, the definition of a Reiki Master is anyone who has received the Master attunement and Master symbol, understands how to give all the attunements and has actually taught a Reiki class thus passing Reiki on to others. Those who have taken Reiki Master training and not taught at least one person would not qualify as Reiki Masters and should call themselves Reiki Master practitioners until they do teach. If you have taught a friend or family member, then you qualify as a Reiki Master.
It was nice when you explained that Reiki is a therapy wherein the energy is moved and the energetic systems are affected in order to promote the healing of a person. That seems like a harmless way to improve a person. I might ask my mom to give this a try since she has been suffering from the side effects of her surgery, and she doesn’t want to take meds. This is the best alternative to get her to feel better.
Learning Reiki from Brooke was one of the best experiences of my life and it changed me in many profound ways. Her Reiki book feels very soothing and peaceful, and knowing Brooke, that is because it is infused with her essence…she truly “walks her talk” and is one of the kindest and most loving people I know. If you want to learn the basics of Reiki, I strongly recommend her book. And if you decide to take a Reiki class, there is no better teacher out there to learn from than Brooke!
Reiki is a healing art. You will be able to affect change in your own energy field as well as that of others. It is important to have a teacher present with the student during learning to identify such things as proper hand placement and make corrections as needed. It is also helpful for students to practice with each other in the presence of a teacher so that they can ask questions about what they are experiencing and feeling.
Next we looked at the Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher Certification course which is designed to show you the differences between Crystal Reiki and Traditional Reiki. This type of therapy involves crystals and is designed to help you become a certified master of this technique. I work with people all over the world who want to learn animal communication and Reiki to help people and animals in their families and communities. Reiki has many benefits for the client or recipient but also has many benefits for the student too. This is due to the ‘attunements’ which are where Reiki energy is transferred into the student’s energy system and chakras with a view to opening and cleansing their chakras (energy centres). This raises their vibration, cleanses their system and opens the chakras to enable the free flow of the healing energy through their upper body, arms and hands.
