There are schools that teach parts 1 & 2 over 2 days or more but usually they have far more students and hence, larger classes. Gateway Workshops specialize in smaller classes, giving the benefit of individual and personal attention to students. You will also receive a detailed manual within the price of the course. As interest in the courses grew it quickly became clear that Marion was not going to be able to meet the demand in a way that suited her. Marion firmly believes that Reiki courses should be run either on a one to one basis, or in small groups certainly of no more than four people. We are opening the minds and hearts of our students to the ever increasing scientific knowledge that ‘energy is non-local’, and as such can reach anybody, for attunements or healing, from anywhere in the world through thought and intention, just like prayer (which is scientifically proven). Indeed with evolving technology, other modalities including medicine are moving toward the use of new technology to reach a broader population than was thought previously possible, for example, through the new 'Telemedicine' and also Online Integrative Medicine studies as provided to medical doctors through the University of Arizona. The Canadian Government has also been engaged in creating a digital health infrastructure as seen through www.betterhealthtogether.ca.
Interestingly I gave a friend who is already 2nd degree a first degree empowerment and the results have been stunning. She is very sensitive to the energies and has always been a guinea pig for me. Not only did she experience a huge jolt as I formulated my intention but in the week since she has been feeling excellent and has dealt, with ease, with some stressful problems which would normally have reduced her to quivering jelly. This is the kind of feedback which makes it all worthwhile for me.
There is one point I cannot stress enough: you will be a healer for yourself, however you will be a 'tool giver' or a 'facilitator' for others. What I mean by that is that people heal themselves with the energy they receive and you are the person that makes that achievable for them. You show them the way to heal, and by giving the Reiki energy and supplying them with the Life Force Energy they then use it to heal themselves.

All information about Reiki has come to us through Mrs. Takata who learned the system of Reiki in Japan in 1935. According to Mrs. Takata, the definition of a Reiki Master is anyone who has received the Master attunement and Master symbol, understands how to give all the attunements and has actually taught a Reiki class thus passing Reiki on to others. Those who have taken Reiki Master training and not taught at least one person would not qualify as Reiki Masters and should call themselves Reiki Master practitioners until they do teach. If you have taught a friend or family member, then you qualify as a Reiki Master.
The basic effect of the Reiki Master attunements is to fully open up your energy system to Reiki, causing a significant increase in the flow of healing energy. This increases the effectiveness of your treatments beyond that achieved at Second Degree level. On top of this, you are attuned to further symbols, and learn additional techniques, enabling you to treat others more effectively, pass on the Reiki ability to others, and fully experience the flow of Reiki through your being.

As a Reiki Master-Teacher, my mission is to share the gift of Reiki and to train people who wish to become Reiki Practitioners. Because of my work as an animal communicator, Reiki for animals is a large part of my professional and teaching practice. Reiki has also become an intimate part of my personal spiritual practice, connecting me more deeply to source energy and the divine love and universal life-force energy that is within all beings.

As Reiki is considered a spiritual healing art you might be required to have a certification of an ordained minister. Therefore, for starting your fact-finding mission it would be useful if you make some telephone calls to your local chamber of commerce. In addition, make sure to obtain liability insurance in case you need protection against lawsuits.
The heights of experience you gain by moving on to the next level which is Reiki level 2 includes a more in-depth experience with the ki which furthers your spiritual development and your self-healing practice, as the Reiki symbols will be taught to you. In this level, the knowledge that will help you to give others(whether in person or distant) the Reiki treatment will be explained to you. It is generally advised that you wait a couple of months from your first level attunement before you move into the second.
Over time, you will learn from experience that the guidance of Reiki is worthy of your trust. Once you have surrendered completely, you will have entered the Way of Reiki. When you do this, you will be at peace with the past and have complete faith in the future and know that there never was anything to worry about. Your life will work with ever greater harmony and you will feel that you have reached your goal of wholeness even as you continue to move toward it!

I really loved this course. The lectures were enjoyable to listen to. It was a great feature to offer them as additional downloads. The extra material like the guided meditations were all high quality. As someone very familiar with Japanese culture I really appreciated the accuracy and authenticity of the material as well as the thoroughness of the training, covering many techniques and methods. Arranging the attunements was very straightforward and I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in Reiki.
