Many Reiki masters have websites or brochures that describe their training, experience and classes. If you do not find such information, it is reasonable to have a brief conversation to ask some questions. Many of these questions are the same ones you would ask a Reiki practitioner, as outlined in the section How Can I Find a Qualified Practitioner.

Each online Reiki class I offer is unique because each class is a co-creation by me and the people in the class. You’ll learn Reiki at home and you’ll learn with other students. This is important because we all learn from one another. All trainings include discussion of spirituality, science, history, safety, combining Reiki with conventional medicine, and the Reiki Precepts, but different groups go more in-depth in some areas than in others.

You may want to contact several Masters before you make your decision. The Master who lives nearest may not necessarily be the right Master for you - many Masters teach in different areas. Trust your feelings - if you have any doubts, look further and take your time. Meet the Masters if you can, or at least speak with them on the phone in order to receive a personal impression. Read the information given in the listing and the background information about the Master. Some of the terms used may be new to you. You could ask the Masters to explain them. You could also ask about some other important issues as:

Once you have received a Reiki attunement, you will have Reiki for the remainder of your life. It does not wear off and you can never lose it. While one attunement is all you need for each level to be attuned to that level, additional attunements bring benefit. Experimentation has found that additional attunements of the same level add to the value of that level. These benefits include refinement of the Reiki energy one is channeling, increased strength of the energy, healing of personal problems, clarity of mind, increased psychic sensitivity, and a raised level of consciousness. At the Reiki support groups sponsored by the Center, additional attunements are usually given by someone who has taken Third degree Reiki, with no extra fee required.
This is a comprehensive course divided into four levels to train practitioners of Reiki and Registered Integrative Naturotherapists with a Reiki specialization. Each level of Reiki training assists the student in understanding the theoretical and practical applications of Reiki, as well as the ethical and legal necessities within a therapeutic practice. Next we looked at the Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher Certification course which is designed to show you the differences between Crystal Reiki and Traditional Reiki. This type of therapy involves crystals and is designed to help you become a certified master of this technique. Your hands are most likely to experience temperature changes when practising. This is the effect of the Reiki energy flowing through your hands. The person receiving Reiki (that can be you giving yourself or the person you give Reiki) will feel relaxed as the energy reduces physical, emotional and mental stress. The person receiving feels often warmth coming out of the hands of the giver.
It was nice when you explained that Reiki is a therapy wherein the energy is moved and the energetic systems are affected in order to promote the healing of a person. That seems like a harmless way to improve a person. I might ask my mom to give this a try since she has been suffering from the side effects of her surgery, and she doesn’t want to take meds. This is the best alternative to get her to feel better.
It is my belief that Reiki asks only one thing from us and that is to be the conduit through which it can continue to be here. For that it requires our willingness to participate. Reiki energy is non-invasive and your body decides how much Reiki it will use and what it will address. The attunements are with you for life and you can then use Reiki whenever you wish.

Think of yourself as a hollow pipe left in the river. As long as the water fills up the insides of the pipe, you are healthy and happy. Negativities, like dirt and grime, settle layer upon layer inside the pipe, slowly reducing the flow of water and eventually clogging it up completely. When this happens to your channel of energy, you find it difficult to be what you were always meant to be - healthy.

The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience. The attunement energies are channeled into the student through the Reiki Master. The process is guided by the Rei or God-consciousness and makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of each student. The attunement is also attended by Reiki guides and other spiritual beings who help implement the process. Many report having mystical experiences involving personal messages, healings, visions, and past life experiences.
Think of this like a music radio where you change the frequency until you listen to your favorite music station. Here the Reiki Master will tune you until you are on the Reiki healing frequency. Note that after one attunement you will be on the right frequency but after a few days, you will decade to the wrong frequency again. For this reason, it is recommended to repeat the attunements when you feel like your frequency is on the wrong channel. Initially, you should do 2 or 3 attunements to lock yourself in the correct frequency for a few months. Only on our website, after you are attuned, the Reiki Master will channel an additional Universal Life Force Energy to your aura to strengthen your attunement.
