We have developed a course of more than 1200 hours of training such that our Reiki graduates can be considered for positions in the professional health and spa communities and eventually gain access to insurance receipts for this work. This is an ongoing challenge that we will be a part of trying to achieve on behalf of Reiki Practitioners and Teachers in the future.

During your home study course you will receive a series of distant ‘Reiju’ empowerments which are there to support your work with sacred Shinto mantras called ‘kotodama’ and to move you on to (or “attune” you) at Master level. These traditional Japanese empowerments help to open up further the channels through which Reiki flows, they emphasise to your system important aspects of the energy that you will be working with, and they introduce you powerfully to a state of oneness. They are equivalent to Western-style Reiki ‘attunements’ but come closer to passing on what was intended by Reiki’s founder, Mikao Usui. During your course you will also receive some Western-style Reiki “attunements” at a distance, so you will have been initiated using both original Japanese and Western-style methods. During the later stages of your course, you will ‘tune in’ to distant Reiju empowerments which we send out every day, on Mondays. Your Reiki potential will not lessen over time, so tuning into these empowerments is not essential, but doing so will make a difference to you and your Reiki practice and echoes the practice of Reiki’s founder, Mikao Usui, who empowered his students on a regular basis.
I absolutely love Reiki, I've studied with Masters in the UK, the US, India and from Japan and Hawaii and have been teaching for almost 25 years since leaving nursing. I teach in a practical, grounded and inspirational way but my workshops usually contain a lot of laughter as well as learning.  I love sharing these extraordinary techniques and seeing lives change and people blossom. 

The only prerequisite for this course is that you are open to learning. If you are finding skepticism and doubt are weighing you down, take some time and come back when you are ready. If you are ready to create change in your body, mind and life and are open to letting go of some of the beliefs that brought you to that place, Reiki can help you do that.

Q. I'm attuned to Usui-Reiki II, and use various Rainbow Reiki techniques and Japanese techniques (e.g., hatsurei ho, reiji ho, byosen etc), and really want to expand my Reiki "toolbox" by learning Seichem. I know that Gateway teach both together, but it seems pointless me coming along to one of the courses, and paying again for the Usui-Reiki I and II, when all I want is the Seichem part! Will you consider doing separate courses, so that I don't end up repeating myself?!

“To describe these as comprehensive would be an understatement. Anything and everything you need to know about Reiki is contained within these! I found these immensely useful – I still do, and I still find them interesting to read through and look at again. They are well organized, presented, and written. My interest is primarily in the original system of Mikao Usui, but it was interesting to see what other people had experienced and discovered in reiki. If we let dogma and doctrine into reiki then it would be no longer reiki. The fact that in the manuals you were not frightened to express an opinion, but managed to avoid sitting in judgement was very well done – and is very difficult to do well.”

I would highly recommend this course and Melissa to anyone wanting to get certified in Reiki. She is always quick to respond to any messages and truly goes out of her way to show she cares. I could feel an intense activating energy during my attunement with her. It is rare to find a healer that will actually schedule a time to perform the attunement from a distance and let you know when it is. You will not be disappointed with Melissa or this course! All of our energy systems are linked, the mind, body and soul; each of these systems are connected and can have an effect on each other. It follows then that if a cleansing, healing energy flows through the body, the spiritual body and the mind will also benefit. This is how Reiki works; flowing through the body, cleansing, healing and detoxifying the system on many levels and therefore healing the mind, body and emotions.
