The Western-style attunement process is not the only way to convey the Reiki ability to students. I stumbled upon Melissa when looking for Reiki courses, and although getting a good feeling from her, I originally decided I wanted to learn in person. However, when looking at local Reiki courses I just didn’t feel the connection with any other teachers – I realised then that Melissa was meant to be my Reiki teacher. Stage 2 This stage is all about familiarising yourself with the materials that accompany our Reiki Second Degree course: reading the course manual, listening to the audio CD, using a symbol meditation over a period of 10 days, practising an intuitive treatment technique, and treating someone with the energies of CKR and SHK in a way that echoes Mikao Usui’s original method. This will take you about 15 hours, over 10 days.

This course introduces and attunes you to 3 of the 4 Reiki symbols - the distant symbol can be used to send Reiki to a person across space and time - you can literally send Universal energy anywhere in the world. Use of the symbols will also aid your personal development and take you further on your spiritual path.
This is the background and theory that you study from home and then complete an online test paper before attending your practical training. It is easily completed with between 6-10 hours of study time. For some people it may take a little longer. In order to be awarded your Diploma you then have a choice of either providing a dissertation or else a copy of your own Reiki course manuals.
